What security measures can I expect?

  • Please be prepared to pass through metal detectors and to show your government issued identification throughout the day. You must wear your name badge throughout the event.
  • There are also limitations on what can be brought into the building. See below.
  • You will be asked to clear the meeting room during lunch.  
  • Event registration will close at 1:00 PM.


What items am I prohibited to bring to CONNECT25?

  • Weapons of any kind, including firearms, knives, toy guns, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, pepper spray/ mace
  • E-cigarettes
  • Drones and other unmanned aircraft systems
  • Banners, structures, and supports for signs
  • Poles, sticks, selfie-sticks, or missile like objects of any kind
  • Large bags, backpacks, briefcases, laptop bags, suitcases, packages or coats
  • Laptop computers, iPads, tablets, camcorders, video or audio recorders or tripods
  • Metal, thermal, or containers of any type (aerosol cans, coolers of any size, glass containers)
  • Any food or beverages not served at the Convention Center
  • Any illegal substances
  • Animals (exception for assistive animals)
  • Laser lights and pointers
  • Motorized scooters, skates, cycles, skateboards, bicycles, strollers, and carts
  • Noisemakers, horns, megaphones, and whistles
  • Any other items determined to be a potential safety hazard

Prohibited items and items determined inappropriate for entry into the venue will be the responsibility of the attendee and cannot be accepted or checked by the venue.

I am coming from out of town. What about my suitcase?
There will be a secure bag check in the Sheraton Overland Park hotel. More information on the location of the room will be given in the email you receive the week before the event.

What kind of bag can I bring into CONNECT25?
A clear bag policy will be implemented for CONNECT25. Below is an outline of what is permissible:

  • Clear plastic 12x6x12 bag.
  • One-gallon clear zip-seal bag (Ziplock bag or similar).
  • Small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a handle or strap.
  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.


Can I record or take photos while President Bush and President Clinton are on stage?
Absolutely no personal photography, note-taking, or recording will be allowed. Anyone attempting to record or take photos will be escorted from the room.
